Wild, Wild Horses: Assateague Island

Submitted by Ed Kiggins, April 6, 2011
Assateague Island, Maryland
Ed shared his journey to Assateague - his first experience with an RV - in This Is How We Roll. Now, the destination:

We arrived at Assateague State Park long after the welcome center had closed, but we had no trouble finding our oceanside site. The back-up camera made maneuvering the RV onto the pad effortless and, with the parking brake set and a fair-sized road trip’s worth of pent-up energy to expend, we emerged from the RV to thrust ourselves onto the landscape in the full moon’s light. That’s when we spotted the first horse. ... Read More

The first mistake we made was in choosing to camp on Memorial Day weekend (don’t do it!); our second mistake was ... Read More

Budget Travel To Disney with AAA and GMA

Submitted by Community Manager, July 8, 2009
The LoPilato family was on a mission. The Brookline, N.H., family of four wanted to spend its summer vacation at Disney World in Florida, but also wanted to do it inexpensively. As featured today on ABC's "Good Morning America," the family cut their travel costs from an anticipated $4,500 to $2,000 by driving and staying in their RV and using AAA's travel agency services for planning, booking their campsite, purchasing discounted park tickets, getting free maps and TourBook guides and using other AAA travel tools like the Fuel Cost Calculator. View the segment here.
