Submitted by Community Manager, March 19, 2010

Boston will be the setting for the next episode of ‘America’s Worst Driver’ this Sunday, March 21 at 10 p.m. ET on the Travel Channel.

AAA’s collaboration with Travel Channel as the official safety partner on the new reality travel competition continues as bad drivers of Boston gather to participate in a series of challenges to determine the city’s worst local driver. Participants will take on one of the oldest and most navigation-challenged cities in the country as they visit some iconic locations in the city. Drivers will pass the following sights  - all AAA GEM (Great Experience for Members) attractions:

Faneuil Hall. Historic Faneuil Hall has been an integral part of the city for more than 250 years. The upper story once served as a meeting hall which was the location of many gathering during the Revolutionary movement. The Faneuil Hall Marketplace contains more than 125 restaurants, boutiques, produce stands and retail pushcarts. Visitors are also entertained by continuous street performers. Massachusetts institute of Technology

Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Located on a sprawling 135-acre campus on the North shore of the Charles River Basin, the institute was founded by William Barton Rogers as a place where students could learn “exactly and thoroughly the fundamental principles of positive science with application to the industrial arts.” It was charted in 1861, but classes did not begin until 1865 due to the Civil War and in 1916 it moved to its current site.

Harvard University. Founded in 1636, Harvard is the oldest institution of higher learning in the country. In and around the “Yard” at Harvard Square, buildings represent the history of architecture in America.

Contestants will also visit Cambridge and Paul Revere’s Statue, as well as participate in challenges involving some of Boston’s most famous foods including baked beans, New England clam chowder and Boston Cream Pie.

Be sure to watch for safety tips from AAA’s driver training expert, Dr. William Van Tassel, also known as “Dr. Bill,” who will offer quick tips for viewers with AAA’s Rules of the Road during special vignettes throughout the series run. AAA will also offer online driver improvement courses to all contestants participating in the show.

I'm pretty interested in this series of shows, because I love to drive (and like to know who I need to look out for). Since I've had the opportunity to be a pedestrian; a bicyclist and a driver in Boston over the last few years, I learned that whatever mode of travel I used, that being aggressive (maybe assertive would be more politically correct)was the key to getting around.

My friend from Boston advised "keep walking . . . they HAVE to stop." He also said while I was driving during rush hour "just GO, you'll never get anywhere if you don't." And when I took a bicycle tour I just followed the guide, counting on him to get us around town safely. (And counting on the cars to stop . . . because the HAVE to!)

Oh another key to getting around anywhere . . . if you make a mistake: smile, wave and say "i'm sorry" to the drivers around you.

Stay safe and don't forget to buckle your seat belt!
