AAA Launches eTourBook Guides

Submitted by Community Manager, April 7, 2011
NEW! Click here for details of the 10 latest eTourBook Guides.

AAA members can now download digital TourBook guides for e-reader devices and smartphones at AAA.com/ebooks. Each of the 81 TourBook guides highlights a top North American destination with listings for AAA Approved and Diamond Rated hotels and restaurants and AAA Editor’s Picks for attractions, events and nightlife. Like their printed counterparts, the digital TourBook guides provide details useful for both trip planning and for reference while traveling, but in a format that is frequently updated.
“The AAA eTourBook series was created in response to member requests for travel information that was concise, portable and electronic,” said Bill Wood, managing director, AAA Travel Publishing. “AAA is committed to providing travel information to our members on the same devices that they are already packing on their trips.”

Members can take along the free digital guides for their Amazon Kindle, Apple iPad, Barnes and Noble Nook, Sony Reader or smartphones equipped with an e-reader application. Any site visitor to AAA.com/ebooks can view the available eTourBook titles, but only AAA members can initiate a download. To complete the process, members log in to download titles to their personal computer and then sync the files to their portable device.

AAA publishes 26 regional TourBook guides covering the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean . AAA travel information is gathered by a team of travel editors and professional inspectors conduct in-person evaluations of all AAA Approved lodgings and restaurants. Listings include 58,000 AAA Approved and Diamond Rated lodgings and restaurants, 17,000 attractions, 23,000 events and 7,000 destinations. Printed AAA TourBook guides and maps are available free to members through AAA offices.

This service is appreciated for several reasons; not the least of which is cutting aper consumption.

Robert- Thank you for your comment. We’re glad you enjoy the eTourBook guides and also agree that a great benefit of ebooks is the reduction in paper use.
