WISCONSIN
Sept. 2-3 PRAIRIE DU SAC Wisconsin State Cow Chip Throw- This event features flying cow pies, music, an art and craft fair, a parade and food. Location: Marion Park. Contact: (608) 643-5463.

Sept. 3-4 SHAWNEE ON DELAWARE Pocono Garlic Festival- Some of the region's most pungent garlic is showcased, along with samples from the finest eateries and recognized wineries. Artisans and performers add to the festivities. Location: Shawnee Mountain ski area. Contact: (570) 421-7231.

MONTANA
Sept. 4 REEDPOINT Running of the Sheep Drive- This end-of-summer celebration is highlighted by a spoof of the annual running of the bulls in Pamplona, Spain. Here, hundreds of Montana-bred sheep charge down Reedpoint's main street. Spectators may race, pet or mingle with the docile animals. Location: Citywide. Contact: (406) 326-2325.

YUKON TERRITORY
Sept. 3 DAWSON CITY Great Klondike International Outhouse Race- Rent an outhouse (or bring your own) and participate in the race. Teams race and perform a scavenger hunt in decorated outhouses through the streets of Dawson. Location: Various locations. Contact: (867) 993-5575.
